| Thanksgiving Food Drive:
Thanksgiving is a time that brings to mind Christ's words; "Whatsoever you do to the least of my brothers, that you do unto me". It is a time when we contemplate how grateful we are for essentials such as, food, water, shelter, clothing, medical aid, freedom, rights, education, and so much more. It seems almost impossible to believe that in our great country there are still many people who suffer from hunger, thirst, insufficient clothing, lack of medical treatment and no place to call home. Once again this year, in an effort to alleviate some of these sufferings, we will hold a Thanksgiving Food Drive in our Elementary School. Our Food Drive will run from Monday, Nov. 2 through Thursday, Nov. 19. All of our students from Grades Pre-K through Grade 8 are asked to bring in one food item. If anyone wishes to donate more, please feel free to do so. The donated food items can be any type of canned goods or dry goods. Baby food has also been requested. However, please avoid bottles or any type of glassware. The items will be packed and ready to be delivered on the last day of our collection to Hour Children and pantries in need. In order to facilitate this collection of donated food, there will be bushel baskets in our front hall where your donated items may be left either before or after school. Thank you for all you do and for the wonderful example you give! |
| Pray For All Souls: We will remember in our daily prayers all of our dearly departed who have gone before us in the Resurrection of Christ. Prayer slips will be contained in a basket in our lobby. |
| Upcoming Events: Our First Grade Christmas Play is scheduled for Friday, December 4, 2009 at 6:00 P.M. This will be presented by our first grade in keeping with previous play and Nativity scenes. Here, in school, we will have our own Christmas Assembly and Prayer Service in keeping with the true meaning of this Holy Season. |
